Colin Cooper

Political Director

Colin Cooper serves as Political Director at Good Government Group, where he leads political strategy, campaign operations, and public affairs initiatives across Ohio. Since joining the firm in 2022, he has helped shape messaging, coordinate electoral strategy, and advise candidates and organizations navigating complex political environments.

Colin’s career reflects a steady progression through local and statewide government, campaign finance, and legislative communications. Prior to his current role, he served as Deputy Finance Director for John Cranley’s gubernatorial campaign, managing fundraising operations during a competitive statewide race. He also worked as Legislative Staff for the City of Cincinnati, supporting policy development and constituent engagement within municipal government.

Earlier in his career, Colin gained experience in public sector accountability as a Paralegal contracted through Robert Half Legal on assignment with the State of Ohio’s Department of Job and Family Services. Working alongside the Fraud Investigation team, he reviewed unemployment claims, analyzed documentation, and helped safeguard public resources during a critical period for state services.

Colin’s foundation in communications was built through roles with the Ohio House of Representatives and the Mayor’s Office in Cincinnati. As a Communications Intern for the 37 member House Democratic Caucus, he drafted press materials, developed digital content, and supported media relations in a fast paced legislative environment. He also coordinated messaging and external communications during his time as a Legislative Intern with the City of Cincinnati, helping maintain a consistent public voice for the Mayor’s Office.

His early professional experiences include an internship with the Institute of Business Ethics in London, where he supported research and publication efforts, and hands on public works experience with the Franklin County Engineer’s Office. At Xavier University, he served as a Peer Advisor in the Student Veterans Center, coordinating outreach and events for military connected students.

Colin brings to his work a strong understanding of public institutions, campaign infrastructure, and strategic communication. His career reflects a commitment to effective governance and the practical work required to translate political vision into results.
